Willie’s Guide to Downtown Los Angeles

The Place We Love: Canyon Coffee

Why We Love It: A great neighborhood spot! This is a newer coffee shop and we love the warm energy here. We’ll usually meet friends and walk around the neighborhood after. My go-to order is their Matcha Pistachio Latte on draft.

The Place We Love: Doubting Thomas

Why We Love It: One of our favorite spots to work from because they have amazing seating and wifi. Very dog friendly — Willie always gets a treat here! You HAVE to get their Passion Fruit Pie. I dream about it and Willie wishes he could have a piece. Pie Advice: You have to get there early because they sell out later in the day. All their pastries are made in-house and the staff is super friendly!

The Place We Love: Woon

Why We Love It: The best casual dinner spot. I could order anything on the menu and be extremely satisfied. Willie loves to go and hang outside on the patio! It’s homestyle Chinese food and my favorite dish is their Beef Noodles and the Ube Ice Cream for dessert. I love the community here and how they make you feel right at home.

The Place We Love: Shop Silver

Why We Love It: Willie and I love to come here and shop amazing vintage! The owner is so sweet and has an incredible curation of vintage clothing, glassware, and home goods. They have pop-ups here often with other local small businesses, too!

The Place We Love: Sqirl

Why We Love It: A market/ restaurant with the Crispy Rice Bowl of my dreams! Willie loves to people-watch (and loves the name because he loves chasing squirrels).

The Place We Love: Bubs and Grandmas

Why We Love It: The sandwiches here have changed the game for me. Get the Italian Sandwich and their pies! Their pickled tomatoes are also to die for! Willie loves the shady outdoors.

The Place We Love: Elysian Park

Why We Love It: Willie's favorite playdate spot to get out his zoomies. Picture: This is one of his girlfriends, Honey, who he likes to show off for and play fetch with. We love how big and open this park is. It’s always lovely to come and have a picnic here when the weather is fitting, but beware of coyotes!
