Meet Maev’s May Dog of the Month

This may come as a surprise, but there’s nothing we love more than celebrating dogs. So, each month we’re spotlighting a dog from our community. For the month of March, we’d like you to meet Pepper!

Tell us about your dog’s origin story (how they chose you, how you chose them, or how they got their name).

Pepper was found after being abandoned in the woods as a young puppy. The woman who saved her couldn’t keep her, and I knew the moment I looked into Pepper’s kind, sweet brown eyes that she was going to be mine forever!

Pepper is named after my favorite vegetable, the red bell pepper, which plays nicely with her peppered paws.

Squirrels, bunnies, or birds?

Squirrels and bunnies for life. Chasing them up the tree or around the house, searching for their scent, and staring into the wide open in hopes of getting a glimpse of one are some of Peppers's favorite things to do!

If you could ask your dog one question and have them answer, what would it be?

She’s not spayed yet, so I’m always curious if she wants to find love and have puppies!

What is your dog’s beige flag?

When Pepper comes over and burps in my face to let me know she’s finished eating.

What table scrap would your dog trade you for?

Any sort of meat.

If your dog had a job, what would it be?

A snow patrol search and rescue dog.

What is your dog’s name for you?

My best friend.

When your dog is dreaming, what’s it about?

Running on the beach, swimming in the water, and playing fetch with friends and family.

If your dog had a dating profile, what would be their most attractive quality?

Her soft brown eyes that look into your soul and silky soft hair

If your dog slid into our DM’s, what would they say?

Woof woof, can my mom have a discount code so she will buy me more food?

Is there anything else we should know about your dog? (think funny anecdotes, defining characteristics, etc.)

When I tell her to stop barking she proceeds to quietly woof under her breath a few more times for good measure.
